A small hero stands in a walled corridor of green stone blocks, a bomb with a lit fuse sits a few squares away, and a round target mark waits beyond it. Walk into the bomb and it rolls one square ahead; get it onto the mark and the stage is cleared. That is the whole rule set, and forty stages spread over four rows of ten stretch it a long way, because a bomb pushed into a corner can never be pulled back out. The side panel counts every step and every undo, and the clear screen turns them into a score, so a tidy solution is worth more than a clumsy one. It is a classic Spil Games puzzle from around 2011, with a choice of characters on the stage select screen.
| Arrow keys | Walk, and push a bomb when you walk into it |
|---|---|
| Undo | Take back the last move |
| Reset | Restart the current stage |
| Stage Select | Return to the stage grid |
How to play Bomb Fan
- Press Play on the title screen, then pick the first open stage from the grid.
- Use the arrow keys to walk around the room; you can only push bombs, never pull them.
- Move each bomb onto a target mark; the stage ends when every target is covered.
- If a bomb gets stuck against a wall, press Undo to step back or Reset to try the stage fresh.
- Check the step count on the clear screen and replay a stage to beat your own number.
Tips
- Before moving, look at which side of each bomb you need to stand on for the final push.
- A bomb against a wall can only slide along that wall, so avoid parking bombs on edges without a target.
- Undo is counted, but it is still cheaper than a full reset on a long stage.
Questions about Bomb Fan
How many stages does Bomb Fan have?
Forty, laid out in four rows of ten on the stage select screen.
Do the bombs explode?
No. They are puzzle pieces that you roll onto targets; nothing goes off.
How is the score worked out?
Fewer steps and fewer undos give a higher score on the level cleared screen.
Can I play with the mouse?
Buttons like Undo and Reset are clicked, but walking is done with the arrow keys.
