A farmer in a cowboy hat, plaid shirt and red neckerchief has swapped the tractor for a red motorcycle, and the fields behind the barn have become his track. Uphill Farmer is a side-view bike game from Spil Games in which the ground rises and dips in grassy hills, and the rider has to stay upright over all of them. The screen shows your lives, ten at the start, a countdown clock and a score made of banknotes you collect by riding through bundles of cash. A progress strip along the bottom marks flags on the way to the end of the course. The controls are the familiar lean-and-throttle set, plus a jump on the Space bar, which helps over bumps that would otherwise throw you over the handlebars.

How to play Uphill Farmer
- Press Play Game on the wooden menu, or How to Play to see the key layout first.
- Hold Up to ride forward and watch the slope ahead.
- Lean back with Left on climbs to stop the front wheel lifting too far, and lean forward with Right on descents.
- Ride through cash bundles to raise your score and use Space to hop over awkward bumps.
- Reach the finish before the clock hits zero. Falling costs a life.
Tips
- Ease off the throttle at the top of a hill; landing at full speed is the most common way to crash.
- Short taps on the lean keys work better than holding them, which can flip the bike the other way.
- Cash is worth chasing only if it does not cost you a fall, since the timer keeps running either way.
