The name is the goal. An NBA regular season is 82 games long, and 82-0 asks whether you can assemble a starting five good enough never to lose one of them. You do not get to pick freely from history, though. Every round begins with two slot reels, an orange one labelled Team and a purple one labelled Era, and you press a big Spin button to see which franchise and which decade you are stuck with this time.

When the reels stop, say on Portland in the 1990s, a list slides up from the bottom with every player who wore that jersey in that window. Each row carries points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks per game, and you can filter by guard, forward or centre or search for a name. Tap one and he takes a slot on the little half-court diagram above the button, which marks the five positions. Five rounds, five spins, five picks, and the lineup is locked.

What makes it more than a trivia quiz is the balance problem. The simulated season adds up your roster across all five statistical columns, so a lineup of three high scorers and no rim protection drops close games that a more rounded group would win. Below each reel sits a one-time reroll, one for the team and one for the decade, and deciding when a spin is bad enough to burn it is a real decision. A second mode hides every number and asks you to draft from memory alone, which is where long-time fans pull away from casual ones.

A full draft takes three or four minutes. The frame is the developer's whole website, so you will also see leaderboards, daily challenges, a coin counter and a cookie consent box on first load; accept or dismiss it and the draft board is underneath.

How to play 82-0

  1. Accept or close the consent box, then press Play on the Classic card.
  2. Press Spin to draw a random franchise and decade.
  3. Scroll the roster that appears and compare the per-game numbers.
  4. Pick one player to fill a position on the court diagram.
  5. Repeat until all five rounds are done, using the rerolls only on a truly poor draw.
  6. Watch the simulated record and try to finish 82 wins and no losses.

Tips

  • Keep track of which categories are still thin; a centre with blocks and rebounds is worth more late in the draft than a fourth scorer.
  • Spend the decade reroll on very early eras, where rosters are short and stats incomplete.
  • Use the position filter before scrolling, so you do not end up with five guards.

Questions about 82-0

What does 82-0 mean?

It is a perfect NBA regular season: 82 wins and no losses, the record your drafted lineup is trying to reach.

Can I pick any player I want?

No. Each round a reel chooses the team and the decade, and you can only draft from that roster.

How many rerolls do I get?

One for the team reel and one for the decade reel per draft, each usable once.

Is there a harder mode?

Yes, a mode that hides all statistics so you draft purely from what you remember about each player.

Why do I see a cookie banner and an app link?

The game window shows the developer's own website, which has its own consent prompt and promotes its mobile app.

Is this an official NBA game?

No. It uses real team and player names as data, but nothing suggests it is made or endorsed by the league.
