DTA 6 is a low-poly open-city sandbox by the developer VSEGON, set in a snowy town built from cubes. You play Jack, who starts at his safehouse with little more than starter gear and no money, and the map is open from the first minute. You can follow street missions, wander, take a parked car, pick a fight, or simply cause a mess and see what the city does about it.

What the city does is send the police. Every crime raises your Wanted Star rating, and with more stars the cruisers track your position and set up pursuit lines. Two tools set this game apart from a plain drive-and-shoot sandbox. Pressing F slows time around you, so traffic and incoming fire crawl while you line up shots. Behind the wheel, Shift fires nitro, which is how you open a gap when the chase gets heavy. A handbrake on C and a rear-view on X help with sharp turns and checking what is behind you.

Progress is built on cash. Early on, head-on shootouts with the law are a losing trade; small street jobs and store robberies fund the first purchases. Weapon shops sell handguns, automatic rifles and heavier equipment, and money also buys faster vehicles for getaways. The phone on Q opens a save option anywhere on the map, and there is also a save marker back home.

The pace is yours to set. A session can be a single mission or an hour of drifting through snowy streets, and the game works in desktop and mobile browsers.

How to play DTA 6

  1. Leave the safehouse and take a few simple street tasks before starting any trouble.
  2. Use the early cash at a weapon shop, then think about a quicker car.
  3. When the Wanted Stars climb, get into a vehicle and use nitro on straight roads to break line of sight.
  4. In a firefight, tap F to slow time and aim with the right mouse button before shooting.
  5. Open the phone with Q and save whenever a run has gone well.

Tips

  • Snow and tight corners punish speed, so the handbrake on C matters more than the nitro in town.
  • Slow motion is best saved for moments when several shooters appear at once.
  • Returning home to the save marker is a safe way to end a session with nothing lost.
