In this salon nobody gets a trim. Miss Bea Hive and her fluffy dog Frizz believe only in volume, and the bigger the result the happier they are. Hair Mania is a Spil Games arcade title from around 2009 that treats hairdressing as a workout: you drag a tool from the bar at the bottom onto the client and rub it back and forth as hard as you can. Each vigorous stroke fills a power bar and raises the hair. Every client card lists a name, the number of tools you may use, a time limit and a hair target in inches; the first one, Angie Azure, needs four inches in one minute. There are three modes, Big Hair, Huge Hair and Ginormous Hair, and the last two open only as you progress.
| Click and drag | Pick a tool from the bar and bring it to the client |
|---|---|
| Rapid mouse movement | Apply the tool and fill the power bar |
| Bar arrows | Scroll through the available tools |
How to play Hair Mania
- Choose Start and pick the Big Hair mode; the other two are locked at first.
- Read the level card: customer name, tools allowed, time and target height.
- Drag a dryer, brush, spray or other tool from the bottom bar onto the client's head.
- Scrub quickly over the hair to fill the power bar and push the pouf higher.
- Reach the target before the timer ends to unlock the next customer; there are five per mode.
Tips
- Short, fast strokes fill the bar better than long slow sweeps.
- Because the number of tools per client is limited, test which ones add the most height and use those first.
- The main menu has a High Scores table and a Hair of Fame page, so a quick clean run is worth more than a slow perfect one.
