Your job here starts with a car accident. In the opening cartoon the new worker's car crunches into the one Papa Louie is riding in, the angry driver demands money, the worker's wallet turns out to be empty, and Papa Louie pays the damage himself, then points to a half-timbered shop under heavy snow with Papa's Cupcakeria on the sign. Every customer orders two cupcakes, drawn side by side on the ticket from the paper liner at the bottom to the cherry on top, and the two can be quite different. Liners come in four patterns, labelled A to D. Batter is poured by holding a button on the dispenser and letting go when the cup is about half full, starting with a chocolate and a pale batter. The pan then goes into an oven with its own timer line. The real craft is the frosting: you choose a flavour, start at the left edge of the cake and drag right and back again, each ring smaller than the last, to pipe a tall swirl. Drizzles, shakers and a bowl of cherries finish it. Willow, our first customer, scored 70% for baking, 71% for the oven and 59% for our rather lopsided decoration.

How to play Papa's Cupcakeria
- After the promo press CONTINUE, then Play, a save slot and either James, Willow or a custom worker.
- Take the order and read both halves of the ticket: liner, batter, frosting, drizzle, sprinkles and the topping for each cupcake.
- At Batter, set the two liners in the pan and hold the pour button for each cup until the batter reaches the fill line.
- At Bake, drag the pan onto a rack, watch the oven timer and move the pan to the green finish counter when the needle hits the line.
- At Build, pick the frosting and pipe it on, add drizzle and shakers, drop the topping, then drag the ticket to the holder.
Tips
- The two cupcakes on one ticket are judged separately. Read the right column too, it often wants another frosting.
- Start each frosting stroke right at the left edge. Starting in the middle leaves one side bare.
- Aim for the thin fill line inside each liner. Too little or too much batter both cost points at the Batter station.
- Baking runs on its own, so take the next customer's order while the pan is in the oven.

Why is there a Freezeria screen before the title?
That is the original file's advert for Flipline's mobile game. It goes away when you press CONTINUE.
Can I play Papa's Cupcakeria on a phone?
The game is mouse-only, so a touch screen can drive it, but piping a neat swirl and dropping cherries precisely is fiddly with a finger. It plays best with a mouse.
