Your worker in this one only wanted a ride. The intro shows Tony at an amusement park, waving his employee line-jump pass in front of the Sky Ninja coaster, only to find a sign saying it is closed for repair until next year. A tap on the shoulder, and the next shot is Papa's Donuteria, a shop with a giant donut on its roof between the coaster track and a Ferris wheel. Most tickets are a box of three donuts, each listed separately with its dough, shape, icing, drizzle and topping. The Dough station is a floured counter: you pick regular or chocolate dough for each slab and press a ring cutter or a round cutter onto it, so a ticket can mix classic rings with round donuts that have no hole. In the Fry station the donuts float in oil, have to be flipped once and are pulled out onto the finished tray. Building means dipping each donut, centred, into a vat such as clear glaze, chocolate icing or powdered sugar, then squeezing a drizzle bottle like strawberry or blue moon and shaking rainbow sprinkles or chocolate chips on top. James, our first customer, rated our dough 100% and the build 42%, but our overcooked batch got nothing for frying.
| Station tabs | Order, Dough, Fry and Build |
|---|---|
| Drag dough balls and cutters | Roll out a slab and stamp a ring or round shape |
| Drag donuts into the oil | Start frying; click a donut to flip it |
| Drag a donut over a vat | Dip it in icing; keep it centred |
| Drag a bottle or shaker | Drizzle or sprinkle over the chosen donut |
How to play Papa's Donuteria
- On the Freezeria advert press CONTINUE, then Play, a save slot and Tony, Scooter or your own worker.
- Take the order and check the three rows of the ticket, one per donut.
- At Dough, drop the right dough into slots 1, 2 and 3 and stamp each with the cutter the ticket shows.
- At Fry, drag all three into the fryer, flip each when the bottom side is done, then move them to the finished tray.
- At Build, pull the donuts from the shelf onto the tray, dip, drizzle and sprinkle each one, and drag the ticket to the holder.
Tips
- Flip each donut once and pull it at the right moment. We clicked ours more than once, left them in too long and scored 0% for frying.
- Hold each donut over the middle of the vat when you dip it; an off-centre dip leaves the icing lopsided and the build score drops.
- Look at the dough colour on the ticket before you cut. Regular and chocolate dough sit side by side and are easy to mix up.
- Frying takes a while, so let the donuts cook while you take the next order at the counter.
Questions about Papa's Donuteria
Is Papa's Donuteria playable on a phone?
It needs only clicks and drags, so touch input can manage it, but centring donuts over the icing vats with a finger on a small screen is fiddly. A mouse works much better.
Why does a Freezeria To Go screen appear first?
It is an advert built into the original game file. Press CONTINUE once the green bar fills.
How many donuts are in an order?
The tickets we got asked for three donuts in a box, and every one is scored.
Does the game remember my shop?
Yes, there are three save slots stored in your browser.
