Taco Mia swaps a flat grill for a four-burner stove, and that changes how cooking feels. Each order starts with a pan of meat dragged from the shelf onto a free burner. A timer ring grows around the pan, and blue markers on that ring show when the meat should be turned, so instead of clicking you drag a big spatula from the left side over the pan and let go to flip it. When the ring fills, the pan shows Done! and you pour it straight into the shell named on the ticket, which in our first order was a hard taco shell waiting at the bottom of the stove. Building is about pouring rather than placing. You grab a bin of cheese, onions, tomatoes or another filling, release it above the taco, then sweep the mouse left and right while the cup empties, trying to spread the pile from end to end. Sauce bottles work the same way, squirting a line that follows the cursor, and a Finish button closes the shell and sets it on a tray. The restaurant itself has tall arched windows, and you choose between two workers, Mitch and Maggie. Our scores were low at first, 7 points for Tohru and 0 for Franco, because waiting time counts too.

How to play Papa's Taco Mia!

  1. Press CONTINUE on the promo, then Start Game!, choose New Game in a slot, select Mitch or Maggie and type a name. Skip Intro jumps past the opening scene.
  2. Click Take Order, read the ticket from the shell at the bottom up to the sauce at the top, and pin it on the line.
  3. At the Grill drag the right meat onto a burner, flip it with the spatula at each blue marker and wait for Done!.
  4. Drag the cooked pan onto the shell. The game then moves you to Build.
  5. Pour each topping in the listed order, sweeping across the taco, add the sauce, press Finish and drag the ticket onto the tray holder.

Tips

  • Keep sweeping the whole time a cup is pouring. Holding still dumps everything in one spot and the spread score drops.
  • Up to four pans cook at once. Start the next order's meat before you go off to build, and come back when its ring nears a marker.
  • Wipe a ruined taco with the Trash can on the right instead of serving it.
  • Read the arrows beside the ticket on the Build screen: they number the fillings in the order they go in.

Questions about Papa's Taco Mia!

What is the Freezeria To Go screen at the start?

A built-in advert for Flipline's phone version of another Papa's game. CONTINUE skips it.

How is Taco Mia different from Papa's Burgeria?

Meat cooks in pans on burners and is flipped with a dragged spatula, and toppings are poured by sweeping the mouse instead of being dropped one piece at a time.

Will it work on a touchscreen?

Most actions are drags, and pouring follows your finger as it moves, but the stove and bins are small on a phone. A mouse gives much better control over the spread.

Are my days saved?

The game keeps three save slots in your browser. The help link on the slot screen explains what to do if saves go missing.
