Karaoke Resort is a cheerful Spil Games music toy from the early 2010s with two ways to perform. Before either, you style a chibi singer on a purple stage: round buttons on the left cycle through body, hair, eyes, dress, top, trousers, shoes and bag, and a flower-shaped button in the middle rolls a random outfit. Then you pick a mode. Sing asks for a computer microphone and scores you on keeping the beat and the right volume, so you do not need to know the words. Dance is the one anyone can play straight away: stars slide down a big rainbow and you click the matching colour on the bar at the bottom as they arrive. Three songs are on offer, labelled Rockgirl, Balladgirl and Popgirl, and every performance adds to a running total score shown under the stage.
| Circle buttons | Change hair, clothes and accessories |
|---|---|
| Flower button | Random look |
| Click a colour on the bar | Hit a falling star in Dance mode |
| Microphone | Sing in Sing mode |
How to play Karaoke Resort
- Press Start, then build a look with the circles on the left. Each shows how many options it holds, such as 1/8.
- Choose Dance for the mouse-only mode or Sing if a microphone is plugged in.
- Skip the high-score prompt with the continue button, then pick one of the three songs.
- In Dance, click the coloured segment directly under each star as it reaches the bottom of the rainbow. A miss makes the rainbow shake.
- In Sing, run the mic check, allow access when the browser asks, set the volume and sing along in rhythm.
Tips
- Watch where a star enters the rainbow rather than where it lands; the lane is set from the top.
- For singing, a steady, even voice scores better than loud bursts.
- Try all three songs in Dance first to learn their tempo before chasing a bigger total.
Questions about Karaoke Resort
Do I need a microphone?
Only for Sing mode. Dance mode works with the mouse alone.
Do I have to know the lyrics?
No. The singing score cares about rhythm and volume, not the words.
How many songs are there?
Three: a rock track, a ballad and a pop number.
Does the outfit change the score?
No. Dressing up is just for fun and shows on stage while you perform.
