The third My New Room is the one with homework. Its title screen offers four doors: Challenges, Free Play, Saved Rooms and More Games. Challenges opens a monthly calendar in which each day holds a decorating task tied to a theme of the week; when we looked, the theme was fairy tales and the day's brief was Hansel and Gretel. Days you have not reached yet stay locked, and some of them carry a wrapped present instead of a star, which is how the game hands out special items that later appear in your catalogue. Free Play drops you into a room that already has a wooden floor, a sofa and a puppy, and lets you rebuild it without any brief. The catalogue is a pop-out panel with a scroll bar and its own category icons, from doors and windows to plants and characters, and there is a bulldozer button for clearing the room in one go. Rooms you like can be stored and reopened from Saved Rooms. It is a classic Spil Games decorating game.

How to play My New Room 3
- Choose Challenges to decorate to a brief, or Free Play to design without one.
- In the calendar, pick an unlocked day, read its theme and press Play.
- Open catalogue categories from the column on the right and click items to order them into the room.
- Drag, turn and recolour each piece until the room fits the day's theme.
- Store finished rooms and come back to them later through Saved Rooms.
Tips
- Read the theme of the week before starting; it tells you which catalogue pages to open first.
- Challenge days marked with a present are the ones that unlock extra items, so do not skip them.
- Clear a room with the bulldozer instead of deleting pieces one by one when you want a fresh start.
