Flipline Studios turned the humble grilled cheese into a four-room job here. Every ticket in Papa's Cheeseria is really two orders glued together: a toasted sandwich on top and a tray of French fries below it. The ticket is read from the bottom up. First comes the bread, picked from stacks of white, marble rye, sourdough and whole grain, then one or two slices of cheese such as Colby, cheddar or Swiss. In the Build room the two bread slices lie open in front of you, and you drag square slices of turkey, bacon or ham and handfuls of chopped tomato and other vegetables onto the open face, then squeeze ketchup, mustard or ranch from bottles that only pour when you hold them above the centre. Closing the sandwich sends it to the Grill, where four cooking spots sit over gas burners and each side must be toasted, flipped with a click and toasted again. Meanwhile the Fry room has its own basket and timer bar: drop in plain fries, wait for the white line, then shake a seasoning or drag a scoop of cheddar topping over the fries. Our tutorial customer Sasha only wanted white bread, Colby, turkey and mustard, and once that order was delivered the shop sign flipped to Closed with one more customer left for us to serve without help.
| Station tabs | Jump between the Order, Build, Grill and Fry rooms along the bottom bar |
|---|---|
| Click a bread stack | Lay two slices of the chosen bread on the board |
| Drag a cheese or meat slice | Drop it on the open sandwich; centre it for full marks |
| Drag a sauce bottle | Hold it over the sandwich and let it squirt mustard, ketchup or ranch |
| Click a sandwich on the grill | Flip it so the second side starts toasting |
How to play Papa's Cheeseria
- Press CONTINUE on the Freezeria To Go advert, then Play, pick a save slot and a worker, and skip the comic intro.
- Click Take Order at the counter, then drag the finished ticket up to the rail so it follows you between rooms.
- In Build, click the bread named at the bottom of the ticket, add the cheese slices, meats, vegetables and sauce in the order listed, and drag the sandwich to the grill.
- On the Grill, wait until the first side reaches the mark on the ticket, click to flip, and take it off when the second side matches too.
- In the Fry room, cook the fries until the timer bar touches the white line, add the topping shown, then drag the ticket onto the holder to serve sandwich and fries together.
Tips
- Start the fries as soon as the sandwich is on the grill. Both cook on their own timers, so running them side by side saves a lot of waiting.
- Keep each cheese slice square over the bread. Slices that hang off one edge lower the build score even when the right cheese is used.
- A grill spot can be left alone for a while, but the browning keeps going. Glance at it after every other task rather than waiting for a beep.
- Read the fry part of the ticket on its own line: which fries go in the basket and which topping goes on them are easy to overlook.
Questions about Papa's Cheeseria
Why are there empty white circles on the title screen?
Those spots normally show icons for Flipline's mobile apps, loaded from the studio's server. When that download is blocked they stay blank. The Play button and the game itself are not affected.
What does a Cheeseria order include?
A grilled cheese sandwich and a side of fries. Bread, cheese, fillings, sauce, grill time, fry time and fry topping are all on one ticket.
Can I play Papa's Cheeseria on a phone?
It only needs taps and drags, so a touch screen can run it, but the bins and grill marks are small on a phone. A tablet or a mouse is far more comfortable.
Is my progress kept?
Yes. The game has three save slots stored in your browser, so the shop, rank and tips stay there until you clear site data.
