Pony Adventure has one of the odder set-ups among classic girls' games: your house has grown a face, sprouted legs and run away, and you set off after it on a brown pony. The world is made to look like a collage, with paper-cut trees built from newspaper and felt, patchwork hills and a smiling knitted sun, and the subtitle on the title screen sums up the mood: girls love racing too. Riding is simple. The right arrow sends the pony forward, Space jumps over holes and obstacles, and the left arrow lets you trot back if you missed something. Carrots, dress-up items and photo opportunities are scattered along the trail, and everything you pick up is stored in the inventory. Between rides you can open the closet and change the rider's clothes with the items you have found. There are three levels, each with its own best score. It is a Spil Games title for younger riders.

How to play Pony Adventure

  1. Press Start Game, read the two How to Play pages and choose Level 1 on the level map.
  2. Hold the right arrow to follow the runaway house across the hills.
  3. Press Space in time to clear gaps and obstacles in the trail.
  4. Collect carrots, clothing items and pictures along the way; turn back with the left arrow if you ride past one.
  5. Open the Inventory to see what you found and the Closet to dress your rider, then try the next level.

Tips

  • Jump a little before the edge of a hole rather than at the last moment.
  • Riding back costs time but is worth it for clothing items, since they unlock new looks in the closet.
  • Play a level twice: once to learn where the gaps are, then again for a better best score.
