Whindy 2: In The Caves
- Genre Arcade games

- Session 12 min

- Updated
The second adventure for Whindy, a pink fox with a daisy on her ear, starts with a quiet life interrupted. The flowers of her world are fading, nobody knows why, and the trail leads into a hollow in a huge mossy tree with glowing yellow eyes. Lartar made this sequel for Spil Games, and it asks more of the player than the first game. There are doors that lead to other areas, a Look Below key for checking what waits under a ledge, and a special move: you can charge up invincibility and release it when things get crowded. The menu adds a Map to follow your route, a Scores table and a How to Play page split into Controls and Items. Before any of that, you type your name.
| Left / Right or A / D | Walk |
|---|---|
| X or L | Jump |
| Down or S | Look below |
| Up or W | Enter a door |
| Z or K | Charge invincibility |
| Space | Activate invincibility |
How to play Whindy 2: In The Caves
- Enter your name and click the arrow, then press Play on the tree menu.
- Move with the arrows or A and D, and jump with X or L. Jump is not on the Up key in this game.
- Stand in front of a door and press Up or W to go through it.
- Press Down or S near an edge to see the ground below before dropping.
- Hold Z or K to charge invincibility, then press Space when you need to get past enemies safely.
- Check the Map from the menu to see which parts of the caves you have reached.
Tips
- Players coming from the first Whindy game often press Up to jump; remap your thumb to X or L in the first minute.
- Look below before every long drop. It costs a second and saves a life.
- Keep a full invincibility charge for rooms you have not seen, instead of burning it on easy enemies.
