The story picks up after an awards night. Karen is named Model of the Moment and thanks Giselle for teaching her everything she knows, which is exactly the kind of speech that starts a feud; the title card even carries the subtitle I Will Defeat Her. This time the styling brief is Chef a la Mode. Think double-breasted chef jackets with rows of buttons, piped aprons, cropped white trousers and tall hats that tip a look into costume, with a side column titled Hats Off. The set is a pastel kitchen with pans and ladles hanging on the tiled wall, and both girls wait for you in simple vest tops and shorts, one blonde with long waves, the other with straight black hair.

How to play Cosmo Angel: Budding Rivalry

  1. Click Play and read the comic, tapping the orange arrow to move on.
  2. In the kitchen, each model is framed by her own column of round category icons.
  3. Choose a category such as tops, skirts, trousers, hats or shoes and click a thumbnail; the numbered dots below it recolour the piece.
  4. Remove anything that clashes with the X tile at the end of the list.
  5. Press the star when both chefs are ready, and the pair move onto the magazine layout.

Tips

  • Chef-jacket buttons show up best against plain bottoms, so save patterns for tights or aprons.
  • Hats are the loudest item here. Put a tall toque on one girl and leave the other bareheaded for a clear contrast.
  • Swap single items rather than starting over; with two models side by side, small changes are easy to judge.

Questions about Cosmo Angel: Budding Rivalry

Is this a cooking game?

No. The kitchen is only the backdrop; everything you do is picking clothes, hair and make-up.

Do I need to play A Rival Appears first?

No. The comic recaps enough of the story, and the dressing works the same either way.

Who wins the rivalry?

The opening comic hands Karen an award, but the game never rates your two outfits against each other.

Does it work with taps instead of a mouse?

Yes. Every action is a single click on an icon or thumbnail, so taps do the same job.
