Tower Shot announces its plan on the main menu: from your kitchen, past seven wonders, all the way to the Sun. The route is a campaign of twenty-three stages split into three chapters. The first takes place at home, among rooms, a garage and a garden. The second throws across famous landmarks at distances measured in thousands of kilometres. The third aims at the Sun itself across the solar system.

The whole game uses one button. Space, a click or a tap starts an angle meter swinging; the second press stops it and releases the dart. If the needle stops in the green band, the dart arcs toward the top of the target tower. The top is worth five points, six on a perfect landing, and hitting the dark centre gives a six-point bullseye that sticks without any extra input. The coloured rings lower down score three, two or one, and a dart that lands flat scores nothing. A quick double press when the dart lands lets it stick onto a dart already standing there, which is how towers of darts get stacked.

Timing prompts keep the flight from being passive. A shrinking ring appears on certain landings and a press on the marker locks the dart in. In the later chapters balloons, drones, satellites and comets cross the path, and pressing at the right moment mid-flight smashes them for a streak bonus. Stars earned from good throws stay with you even if a stage fails, and the first clear of each stage pays a large one-time star reward.

Stars are spent in the shop on more darts per stage, from five up to nine, and on the special darts needed to enter the second and third chapters. A loading-screen hint is worth taking literally: after you clear a room, some of the objects in it can be clicked and open hidden stages. Besides the solo campaign, the menu offers a 1v1 mode where two players throw at the same tower in turns, ranked leaderboards and a profile with stats and titles.

How to play Tower Shot

  1. Press Play; the first run starts with a short tutorial.
  2. Press once to set the angle meter moving and again to throw when the needle is in the green band.
  3. Aim for the top of the tower or the bullseye, since lower rings score less.
  4. When a timing ring appears, press as it lines up with its marker to make the dart stick.
  5. Reach the stage score goal before you run out of darts to move on.
  6. Spend stars in the shop on more darts and the gear needed for the next chapter.

Tips

  • Buy extra dart capacity before anything else; nine darts make every later stage far more forgiving.
  • Replay an easy early stage to farm stars, since throw stars are kept even after a failed attempt.
  • Click around the room after clearing it, because some objects unlock hidden stages.
