The 2008 sequel looks brighter and plays wider. Instead of grass and stone, the path is a ribbon of white cloud drawn across a blue sky, and it loops far more than the first map, doubling back on itself in tight S-shapes before leaving through the bottom of the screen. Before the first wave you choose Easy, Med or Hard; on Easy the counter starts at 650 money and 100 lives. The shop on the right grew to eight items, and two of them are not towers at all. Road Spikes are laid straight onto the track and pop ten bloons before wearing out; Monkey Glue is a cheap blob that slows twenty bloons. Both last only until the end of the current round, so they are emergency tools rather than a plan. The new Boomerang thrower hurls a curved shot that returns to it and can hit two targets at once, and the Super Monkey got cheaper and gained upgrades for epic range or laser vision.

How to play Bloons Tower Defense 2
- On the first screen pick a difficulty medal: Easy, Med or Hard.
- Buy a Dart Monkey for 250 and set it in the open sky between two loops of the path, where its range covers both lanes.
- Add a Tack Shooter for 340 inside a tight U-bend; its eight-way volley hits bloons coming from either side.
- Press Start Round, watch which stretch leaks, and spend between waves to cover it.
- When a round looks too heavy, throw down Road Spikes for 25 near the exit as a last line.
Tips
- The loops are the whole strategy here. A monkey placed where three lanes pass within its circle does triple work for one price.
- Spikes and glue vanish at the end of the round. Buy them only for the waves you are about to lose, not as permanent defence.
- The Boomerang's upgrade lets it pop frozen bloons, which fixes the usual weakness of pairing darts with an Ice Ball.
- In round 4 blue bloons mix in with red ones; a single unupgraded dart monkey will let a few through, so have a second shooter by then.
Questions about Bloons Tower Defense 2
What changed from the first Bloons Tower Defense?
A sky map with longer loops, a difficulty choice, 100 lives on Easy, and three new buys: Road Spikes, Monkey Glue and the Boomerang. Prices are lower too, for example the Tack Shooter costs 340 instead of 400.
Which difficulty should I start on?
Easy. It gives 100 lives, so you can afford to learn which bends leak before trying Med or Hard.
Does it work on mobile?
It is played entirely with clicks, so taps work, but the shop icons are small. A tablet or a desktop browser is the better fit.
Do the spikes stay on the track?
No. Spikes pop up to ten bloons and glue slows up to twenty, and both disappear when the round ends.
