Sand instead of pavement, palm trees instead of street lamps and a dolphin on the sign of the first boutique: the Hawaii chapter of Spil Games' shopping series trades city streets for a beach promenade. You start by choosing one of three girls in swimsuits standing on round blue podiums, then fill in her name, age and star sign. From then on a pink Lady Card delivers $500 every day. The boardwalk shops lean towards resort wear. Fortune Fashion is stuffed with bright tops and patterned pieces, Aloha Accessory sells jewellery and bags, and Beauty Resort is a proper makeup counter where lipstick, eyeshadow palettes, lashes, blush and even face paint each come in four shades. A daily challenge card asks you to style a look around a set item, for example a blue one-piece swimsuit, and a timed sale badge flashes above one store now and then.

How to play Shopaholic Hawaii

  1. Click New Game, pick a model and type a name and age so the OK button unlocks.
  2. Collect the daily refill, then read the challenge card that names today's must-wear item.
  3. Use the arrows to walk the beachfront and click a boutique to browse its shelves.
  4. Buy clothes, accessories or makeup with the cart; prices run from around $20 for lipstick to much more for clothing.
  5. Dress your girl in the wardrobe, include the challenge piece and save the outfit to finish the day's task.
  6. Keep leftover cash on the card, since it is added to the next day's $500.

Tips

  • Beauty Resort items are cheap, so a new lipstick or eyeshadow can freshen a look without spending much of the budget.
  • When the sale badge appears over a shop, the countdown is short; go straight there if you wanted something from it.
  • The challenge is optional, but its reward is the easiest way to afford bigger clothing buys.
