The joke of Achievement Unlocked 2 is printed on its own title screen: why risk it when you can just create a sequel? jmtb02 programmed it in 2010, and once again you steer a small blue elephant around a single screen while a column on the right counts up 250 achievements. Some are for honest work, such as reaching each of the five floors or sweeping a floor clean of coins. Many more are for things you would normally avoid. Dying on a spike earns Impaler, dying on a downward spike earns Stalactite, and every spike you die on turns from green to pink, which is another tally of its own. Your corpses stay on the map as grey elephants, and there are achievements for stacking three of them, landing them on the same spike or keeping one in the air with a launcher. The bottom panel keeps the books for the floor you are on: deaths, jumps, spikes out of 18, coins out of 30, launchers out of 29 and painted tiles out of 100, next to a timer and an overall percentage. Within the first minute of our test it had already handed out 30, partly for things like simply pressing the arrow keys, looking left and looking right.

How to play Achievement Unlocked 2
- Press Start under the loading bar and wait for the publisher logo to pass.
- On the menu pick Free Play for the open campaign or Time Trial for a four minute rush. The orange co-op panel no longer connects, so stay on the blue side.
- Click the play area once so the elephant listens to the keyboard.
- Explore Floor 1, then head for the exits marked Home on the left and Marketplace on the right, and climb toward the higher floors.
- Keep an eye on the scrolling list on the right: orange entries are unlocked, blue ones are still waiting, and each new one pops up at the bottom left.
Tips
- Dying is progress here. Touch every spike at least once; the pink ones are already counted.
- Count your jumps. The panel tracks them, and a few achievements care about how many you made or did not make.
- Leave corpses where they are useful. A grey elephant lying next to a spike row can become part of a later achievement.
- Time Trial is easier after a Free Play session, once you know where the coins and launchers sit.
Questions about Achievement Unlocked 2
Does the co-op multiplayer still work?
No. Creating or joining a room needed the publisher's old online service, which is gone. Free Play and Time Trial are fully single player and work fine.
How many achievements are there?
250, shown in the list on the right with a counter at the bottom. The percentage under the timer moves as you collect them and the floor stats.
Do I need to finish the first game?
No. The sequel stands alone, with a new map and its own list.
Does it work on a phone?
No. The elephant moves only with a keyboard, so play on a computer.
